Cruising the web, I discovered a delightful wooden clock, with free plans. This looks to be a RATHER ambitious project. You could spend a bit and make it much easier.
I like the puzzle clock here, these look like a good choice for starting. For fine art I would have to go with one of these however. If you want to know the phase of the moon and perhaps a bit more, this one looks like the dream.

You keep talking about using the incoming JMP for making gears. Those are cool, I can see why you’d want to make them.
This is the coolest use of gears I’ve seen:

That is the most delightful table that I have ever seen. I love it, thanks for sharing, Cory!

Those are cool clocks. I’ve always wanted to make a clock. I have access to a laser and I have cut 1/4″ poplar with it to make some tool holders. An example of one can be seen on my blog http://sirrichardstoolkit.blogspot.com/. Look up: engraving burin, the base holding the bits is one I cut out and put together.
Nice, I always enjoy seeing the work of other tool makers. I tried to check your link from earlier posts but could not manage to find the links. http://sirrichardstoolkit.blogspot.com/ worked great thanks. I love the press, I think I need to make one sooner or later.
